Dabri Combrink, a dedicated optometrist, completed his Bachelor’s degree in Optometry from the University of the Free State in South Africa. He gained valuable experience working in a Binocular, Pediatric & Sports Vision practice in Stellenbosch. He further enhanced his knowledge by undertaking a postgraduate Diploma in Sports Vision in South Africa, and he also pursued Visual Therapy and Binocular Vision short courses in the United States and Canada. Dabri later relocated to Port Elizabeth, South Africa, where he joined a private practice group and served for seven years. He and his family made the decision to move to North India, specifically the rural and mountainous regions, to provide essential eye care services. Despite the challenging terrain, he established an eye clinic within a local rural hospital. Realizing the immense need for eye care, Dabri started eye camps that venture into the Himalayas, requiring long journeys lasting 2-4 days. He has also completed the Global Eye Health course The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine offers. Dabri continues to dedicate himself to improving eye health in North India, alongside his wife, while raising their three boys.
